Colas Bitumen Emulsions are market leaders in the manufacture, delivery and spraying of Bitumen Emulsions

COLAS Bitumen Emulsions produces, supplies and applies a range of high-quality bitumen emulsions for use in road maintenance operations.

All of our emulsions are CE Marked and comply with the requirements of both the TII’s Specification for Road Works Series 900. Our emulsion plants are NSAI certified to ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System and I.S. EN 13808:2013 Factory Production Control Management System.

 

We provide a wide variety of products to suit all conditions

Emulsions from COLAS are available ex-works. They can be delivered to a customer’s storage tank or applied using COLAS Bitumen Emulsion’s fleet of emulsion sprayers.

All emulsions are designed by our Technical Department to provide optimum performance in Irish conditions and to give maximum adhesion to the surface dressing aggregates used in Ireland. All of our emulsions are made using emulsifiers that were designed and manufactured by our chemical division, Chemoran.

COLAS sprayers are purpose-built and calibrated in accordance with BS 1707 and EN12272-1. All of our surface dressing emulsions should be stored in insulated heated tanks and applied at a temperature of 80 to 85°C.

Manufacturing

COLAS Bitumen Emulsions manufacture a wide range of Bituminous Products for Road Construction and Maintenance in our production plants in Galway, Dublin and Portadown.

Emulsion Delivery

Using our dedicated fleet of tankers, COLAS Bitumen Emulsions delivers products to our customers storage facilities, with roadside deliveries to our customers spray trucks where required.

Emulsion Sprayers

COLAS Bitumen Emulsions can provide customers with Surface Dressing Sprayers for use with the customers plant on their sites.

Hot Bitumen Sprayers

Hot Bitumen Sprayers are used to apply bitumen as a Bondcoat on between Asphalt layers, our Hot Sprayers deliver an accurate application of bitumen.

OB Vario

The most modern equipment combining Emulsion and Chipping application, its self-loading facility removes the need for separate gritters and loading shovels.

Bond Coat Sprayers

COLAS Bitumen Emulsions provides Bond Coat Sprayers to apply bond and tack coats between asphalt layers, some are equipped with bitu-sealers which apply a vertical or horizontal coat of bitumen on asphalt joints to conform with best laying practice.

Combi Units

Combi Sprayers and Chippers are suitable for surface dressing and road repair, these self-contained sprayer and gritter combination are in constant demand.
